I am teaching since about 25 years now and what i found out over the years for me is that in general teaching music is a very wide and open field because the musical taste always comes first and this can only be developed through many years of listening to music. Many teachers are just focussing just on developing technical skills of their students which are undoubtly mandatory to achieve any goals on a musical instrument but - personal taste comes first. It is the mother of all and leads you to the path of your own vision, your own musical understanding, your own style and finally your own language of music.
